Swedish for Tourists

This course is for people who are planning to visit Sweden on a longer or shorter break and would like to be able to say the most basic things in Swedish in typical situations (see course content below). The course is open to anyone and you do not need any prior knowledge of Swedish. Maximum candidates per class is 16.

COURSE CONTENT

Topics: Greetings; personal introduction; ordering food and drink; tipping; shopping; purchasing tickets for different events; asking for directions; getting around; sightseeing; booking a hotel room; nightlife; emergencies; Swedish culture, customs and traditions, etc. Open for requests as well.

Functions: Introducing oneself; asking for information; saying what something costs; saying what time it is; saying what you like and dislike; saying what is wrong with you when you fall ill; checking in and out of a hotel; saying what you want to eat and drink; shopping in different shops; asking what something costs and paying; asking for information about different events; purchasing different types of tickets; ordering a taxi; calling the police and ambulance in an emergency.

Grammar: Relevant grammar, such as personal pronouns; indefinite and definite forms; word order; everyday verbs and nouns; present tense; spelling; counting and numbers; useful phrases for different situations; pronunciation and stress, etc.

Teaching Method: Role plays, dialogues, improvisation, brainstorming and vocabulary boosting, pair work, exercises, Q & A, reading, listening and understanding.

Course Materials: Swedish Language Training's own tailor-made material which is included in the course fee. So there is no need to buy a course book.
